Hello 1 st Erindale:
Unfortunately, due to the teachers strike we will not have access to the gyms. We have
outdoor activities planned.

New Calendar / Website The provider that we were using previously for our calendar
(Google Legacy G_Suite) will be switching to a paid version, so we’ve made some
changes to our calendar. If you’ve previously had it downloaded to your phone, please
be sure to download the new calendar. One thing that I do is add the calendar to my
phone, so with any updates it automatically updates, and I can see it easily. You can add
the calendar to your phone by following directions
here: www.1sterindalescouts.ca/add-calendar/ If you don’t wish to add to your own
calendar, then please check the website for the most up to date calendar
here: http://www.1sterindalescouts.ca/calendar/

Let’s Meet! If you haven’t seen what’s coming up – check out the calendar
here: http://www.1sterindalescouts.ca/calendar/

Interested in joining 1st Erindale Scout Group? You can ‘check us out’ for 2 meetings
before you need to decide if you want to join. The registration year is January to
December. For more details on fees and online registration visit Scouts.ca. Email anytime
if you have questions.
Yours in Scouting, Scouter Joe

Tonights meeting Cancelled.

Hello: Unfortunately, our bike hike is cancelled for tonight due to the weather. So our meeting tonight is cancelled. Sorry for the short notice. Also, wanted to THANK YOU ALL for helping with Saturday’s fun fair for Mo Snobar.
YiS Leadership Team

Welcome back for the 2021-2022 Season

Hi All,

Unfortunately, we do not have access to school gyms this fall so many of our ‘in-person’ activities will be at Erindale Park or St. Peter’s Church parking lot.  These locations give us access to washrooms.  Please check the schedule for changes due to severe weather.  Some activities will be done virtually but we are eager to do ‘in-person’ as much as possible!

Scouts Canada is currently allowing in-person camping with restrictions including one person per tent so we will limit camping to the senior sections.  Masks and distancing will be mandatory at all meetings.

That is the current plan.  Of course, this can all change at any time as advised by Scouts Canada or the province of Ontario.  Keep an eye out on the schedule page which will be current on activities.  If an event is cancelled, the schedule/calendar will be updated to show cancelled in the name.  This page will be used for updates, as well as the usual emails that come out.

Upcoming Events

Upcoming events:

September 17 to 19 – Virtual Fort George (for those who signed up-see below).

September 25 – Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup (Erindale Park 9:30a to 12:00p).

Details coming for the following – hold the dates!!

October 1-3 – Fall Camp (in-person-Scouts and Venturers ONLY)

October 13 – All Section Hike

October 20 – All Section Tree Planting

October 23 – Pumpkin deliver (Scouts and Venturers)

Also this fall is a continuation of Scout Canada’s Great 8 Challenge.  It’s called ‘Around the World in 60 days’.  Some of the activities will be done independently and some during our meetings.

Welcome Back

Welcome back for the 2020/2021 Season.

Due to the rise of Covid cases in Ontario, Scouts Canada has decided to not hold any in person camps, although we are still allowed to meet (for the moment). The Scouts and Venturers will have some in-person meetings which will be held outdoors at various locations (Jeffs backyard / park). Masks and distancing will be mandatory. This will continue depending on weather and will move to virtual meetings as the weather gets colder. The beavers/cubs will hold virtual meetings for the time being. As we are limited to 25 people outdoors, unfortunately we’ve had to cancel our Meet the Leader BBQ.

That is the current plan. Of course, this can all change at any time as advised by Scouts Canada or the province of Ontario. Keep an eye out on the schedule page which will be current on activities. If an event is cancelled, the schedule/calendar will updated to show cancelled in the name. This page will be used for updates, as well as the usual emails that come out.
